Troop 54 hiked a section of the Midstate Trail, from the parking lot of Camp Winnekeag in Ashburnham, MA, to the shelter at Muddy Pond in Westminster, MA. Four Scouts and two leaders made this hike, which featured nearly continual light rain. In spite of the rain, we had a camp fire. We purified water from the pond and cooked up some great camp food. One dinner dish was chicken alfredo with sauteed Porcini mushrooms and marrow fat peas. The camp site featured a great view over this picturesque pond. |
