On November 24, 9 Scouts and 4 leaders from Troops 54 and 7054 gathered at Wesley United Methodist Church for our annual event to bake pies for charities. Six rolls of pie crust were donated just before the event; we made the rest of the pie dough. All of the pie filings were canned.

Since Wesley has two nice convection ovens, we didn't have to get there early to warm up the ovens. We had two dough-making stations and one pumpkin pie filling station. We made a total of 60 pies this year:

12 Apple
14 Cherry
14 Pumpkin
20 Blueberry

20 of the boxed and labeled pies went to the Veterans Inc shelter around the corner from Epworth. The rest (40) went to the food pantry at Friendly House to be included in food packages for meals for Thanksgiving. The left-over dough-making supplies were also donated at those locations.

Thanks to Wesley United Methodist Church for hosting our pie-baking event in their spacious kitchen!
