On November 21, 8 Scouts, 3 leaders gathered at Epworth for our annual event to bake pies for charities. We made most of the pie dough with all of the pie filings being canned.
This year, starting the ovens at 4:00 PM worked well. Our main constraint this year was having only one dough-making station. We made a total of 41 pies this year:
12 Apple
14 Cherry
12 Pumpkin
3 Blueberry
13 of the boxed and labeled pies went to the Veterans Inc shelter around the corner. The rest (28) went to the food pantry at Friendly House to be included in food packages for meals for Thanksgiving.
