Eleven Scouts, four leaders and one former leader (same numbers as last year) gathered on Tuesday,
November 20 for our twelfth annual event to bake pies for charities. We again made most of the pie dough
during the event, and ASM Virginia Marchant had brought everything needed to make some pies from fresh
apples.
We baked 44 pies (2 strawberry, 13 cherry, 10 apple, 8 pumpkin and 11 blueberry). The next morning, we
boxed them up and delivered 22 to the Veterans Inc shelter on Grove Street and 22 to the Friendly House
food pantry.
Thanks to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour (especially Mark Sivazlian and Pastor Terzian) for allowing us
to use their fantastic kitchen for this, to Troop 54 leaders and parents and Epworth members for providing
pie fillings, and to Shaw's for a gift card to help with the pie dough materials.
