Eight Scouts, five leaders and one former leader gathered on November 22 for our
tenth annual event to bake pies for charities. This year, for our first time, we
made the dough for the pies tops as part of our assembly line.
We baked a total of 60 pies (17 apple, 4 pumpkin, 15 blueberry and 24 cherry).
The next morning, we boxed them up and delivered 20 to the Veterans Inc shelter on
Grove Street and 39 to the Friendly House food pantry. We ate one pie.
Thanks to the Armenian Church of Our Savior for allowing us to use their
fantastic kitchen for this, to Crown Bakery for providing the pie boxes, to Troop
54 parents and Epworth members for providing pie fillings and to Troop Committee
members for providing funds for this.
