One of the trail markers Troop 54 passed on the "M & M" while backpacking through Wendell State Forest (November 2009).

The Metacomet-Monadnock Trail is a trail that runs generally north/south 98 miles through Massachusetts, starting at the Connecticut border at Rising Corner, Connecticut. It continues 20 miles into New Hampshire, ending at Mount Monadnock. It is often referred to as the "M and M Trail". Several trail segments connect a series of trail shelters. As of March 2017, most sections of this trail have been incorporated into the New England Trail and appears to be referred to as the NET.

Trail Guide - The Appalachian Mountain Club Berkshire Chapter manages the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail; use their site to read brief information about sections of these trails.

Metacomet-Monadnock Trail Guide - This book includes maps and detailed trail descriptions. New copies of the book (from 2005) can still be found online, but it is not longer maintained.
