These activities are great for Cub Scouts (Grades 1-5, ages 6-10):
Firestation - you can usually make an appointment for a brief tour of your local firestation. Kids of all
ages like this. For Cub Scouts, it satisfies a rank requirement in almost every year.
Newspaper printing plant - Find your local newspaper printing plant for
what is sure to be an interesting tour. If you live in Worcester, Massachusetts, the T&G printing
plant has enough interesting information that Webelos Scouts are probably the best target audience.
Lowe's - Each store usually offers a Kids Clinic one Saturday each month. Check with the service desk to
find out which day and time they have it. Ask whether advance sign-up is encouraged or required. These are good for
completing a "build it" requirement in some Cub Scout adventures.
Home Depot - Each store usually offers a kids workshop one Saturday each month. Check with the service desk to
find out which day and time they have it. Ask whether advance sign-up is encouraged or required. These are good for
completing a "build it" requirement in some Cub Scout adventures..
Insectarium - Ford's Hometown Services, at the corner of Forest and Grove
Streets in Worcester, Massachusetts, houses lots of exotic bugs. With the curator's supervision, you can even pet some of them.
