Trail to First Class

Scouts who have not yet attained the rank of First Class work on the skills necessary to obtain the Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, and 1st Class ranks. A few troop members will be running one of the stations at Trail to First Class. Other troop members at Treasure Valley will participate in an Order of the Arrow event.

4/1/11 Update: As a result of the weather, the start of the event is delayed to Saturday morning. The program will start with Registration on Saturday Morning at 8:30AM at the Magee Visitor Center. The opening ceremony will be held at the Commissary at 9:15 AM with stations run throughout the rest of the day in the East Camp. Some buildings will be open for Scouts to get out of the weather.

The troop will camp at the Pine Acres site and expects to run its station near the Commissary building.

Registration:

• Permission Slip - Each participating Scout must submit this to the Scoutmaster before the event.
• Registration Form - Each participating Scout must submit the second page of this form (the Scout Registration Form) to the Scoutmaster before the event.
• CORI - Adults staying overnight must have submitted a CORI to the Mohegan Council within the last year. If you need this, please submit it to the Scoutmaster by March 15.
• Youth Protection Training - Adults staying overnight must have completed BSA Youth Protection Training within the prior two years. If you need this, submit your training certificate to the Scoutmaster by March 15.
• Vehicle Information - If your vehicle information has not been included on a previous tour permit, please provide this to the Scoutmaster by March 15.
• Cost:
    Scout participating for advancement: $9
    Scout working to run a station: No Charge
    Adult: No Charge

Note: No youth is permitted to sleep in the tent with an adult other than his own parent or guardian per BSA rules.
