Event Description
Troop 54 will travel to Seton Scout Reservation to participate in the 12th Annual Fishing Derby. The camp is owned by the Greenwich Council in Connecticut; the event is hosted by the Greater Hudson Valley Council in New York. This will be our first trip to Seton SR.
The fishing derby runs 8 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. See the event flyer for details.
This trip is open to Scouts BSA members and AOL Scouts.
Registration

Permission Slip - Each participating Scout must submit this to the Scoutmaster by September 16.
- Event registration fee - pay by September 16 (includes food):
Youth - $59 (online payment)
- Annual Health and Medical Record - Each participant must have submitted this record within the previous year
and no later than September 16. This trip requires only Parts A and B, including copy of insurance card (both sides). A medical exam is not required.
- Adults - In accordance with a BSA rule that became effective September 1, 2023,
"All adults staying overnight in connection with a Scouting activity must be currently registered in an adult fee required position as listed or as an adult program participant."
Packing
Use our Personal Camping List to ensure you pack the needed items and see our Personal Camping Gear page for descriptions of most of the items needed and for how to use the checklist. You can pack your stuff in a backpack (the big kind), a duffle bag or a tub. Specific items to bring:
- Money - Bring at least the $6 needed to pay for the event lunch and enough for lunch at a fast food restaurant on the way back.
- Water bottle
- Full uniform (as for just about any event) - wear this.
- Food - Each patrol should plan to provide 2 breakfasts and 1
dinner. Participants bring your own drinks and food for snacks.
Travel
Travel information will be posted soon. We will meet at the church at 1 PM on Friday.
- Meet at the Epworth United Methodist Church parking lot at 5:30 PM on Friday for departure by 6:00 PM.
- Travel to the
camp entrance
is approximately 2 hours 40 minutes.
- Estimated return to the church is 1:30 PM Sunday (+/- 1 hr). We will call parents with an updated arrival time estimate after we depart the camp.
