Buck Hill Camping Trip

Event Description
This trip is a replacement for the camping portion of the Klondike Derby earlier this month. We will travel to Buck Hill Scout Reservation for our first time since 2017. We will camp at the Pulver Shelter and Tent Area.
This trip is open to Scouts BSA members and Webelos/AOL Scouts.
Registration
- Permission Slip - Each participating Scout
must submit this to the Scoutmaster by February 10.
- Event registration fee - pay by February 10 (includes food):
Youth or Adult- $32 (online payment)
- Annual Health and Medical Record - Each
participant must have submitted
this record within the previous year and no later than February 10. This trip requires only Parts A and B,
including copy of insurance card (both sides). A medical exam is not required.
- CORI - Adults staying overnight must have submitted a CORI to
Troop 54 within the last year. If you need this, please submit it to the Scoutmaster by February 10.
- Youth Protection Training - Adults staying overnight must have
completed BSA Youth Protection Training within the prior two years. If you need this, submit your training
certificate to the Scoutmaster by February 10.
- Vehicle Information - If you are driving anyone other
than your own family members to and/or from the event and your vehicle information has not been provided to the Troop previously, please provide this to the Scoutmaster
by February 10.
Packing
Dress warmly and bring any stuff in a day pack. Specific items to bring:
- Water bottles (2)
- Full uniform (as for just about any event) - wear this.
- Day pack
- Food - Each patrol should plan to provide 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1
dinner. Participants bring your own drinks and food for snacks.
- Proper clothing for cold weather. Wear boots (preferably waterproof winter boots), warm gloves, thermals, a warm hat
(e.g., knit hat). See our Cold Weather Clothing page. Snow pants are recommended if there is significant snow on the ground or if the forecast includes high winds or temperatures below 20°F.
Travel
- Meet at the Epworth United Methodist Church parking lot at 6:30 PM Friday for departure by 6:45 PM.
- Travel to the camp is approximately 45 minutes.
- Estimated return to the church is 12:00 PM Sunday.
