Some great facilities and spaces are owned or maintained by foundations. A few examples in our area:
AMC Berkshire - the Appalachian Mountain Club
Berkshire Chapter manages the Massachusetts sections of the Appalachian Trail and the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. Use
their site to read brief information about sections of these trails and to reserve their facilities.
Greater Worcester Land Trust -
this organizaton owns several conserved properties in the Worcester, Massachusetts. Camping is
available at some of its properties, including Sibley Farm (2 platforms), KinneyWoods (2 platforms) and
Bovenzi Park (1 platform).
Hale Reservation -
this organizaton allows groups to camp by reservation. It is located in Westwood, MA (about 1 hour from Worcester, MA)
Northfield Mountain -
owned and operated by FirstLight Power Resources. Offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities as well as an extensive array
of environmental and recreation programs.
The Trustees of Reservations -
this organization owns and manages dozens of properties in Masschusetts, including Tully Lake
Campground and Redemption Rock.
