We returned to Camp Squanto, our sixth time visiting this camp. We camped in the Blackfoot Cabin. We had 2 youth and 2 adult participants on this trip.

We left the Worcester area that Friday during a heavy snowfall, so it took hours just to get to I-495. From there, it was slow going but slowly got better as we got closer to Plymouth. We finally got to the camp around 10 PM.

The camp ranger had done a thorough job clearing the camp roads, so we were able to move our gear from the parking lot to the cabin using wagons instead of sleds.

There were three units in camp that weekend and three campmasters. Usually, we would be on our own for the weekend. The campmasters invited the units to coffee in the Dining Hall at 9:30, to the camp museum at 10:00 and to the trading post at 11:00 on Saturday. We were the only unit at each of those. Our Scouts enjoyed looking at the extensive collection of Scouting artifacts in the museum.

Even the fresh snow was not very deep in Plymouth, so we went on a walk around the camp during the day on Saturday.

The propane heat kept the cabin very warm. We mostly cooked inside, except for the bacon, which the Scouts cooked outside.
