Blast Into Scouting Membership Activity

Join the district recruitment teams on Boonesville and launch bottle rockets with your new or prospective Cubs! Bring one from your den meeting or decorate it here!

Tips & Ideas:

  • Electrical tape is available in many colors and has more give than duct tape.
  • Duct tape is available in a plethora of colors and patterns, but should not completely encase the bottle to allow for expansion.
  • Craft paint may not last too long as the plastic is very smooth, but can still be used toshow what expansion can do.
  • Paper streamers can be attached on the base of the bottle, they may come off, be sure to Leave No Trace!

The Cub Safari runs 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. We will meet at 10:00 AM at the East Lodge.

Either bring your lunch or plan to buy lunch at the East Lodge Snack Shack.

This event is for Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, siblings and non-members.

Campout Information

Members can also camp with Pack 54 starting when we are finished with the Cub Safari. We have reserved the Chippewa site.

Members camping out are responsible for bringing their own tents, sleeping bags, food, etc. We have only a few loaner items available.

Family members are welcome. Provide your own food and cooking equipment. You can cook on a campfire or on camp stoves (we will have a couple there and you can bring your own). The camp will not yet be set up for summer camp, so bring your own tent and set it up on the the camp's wood platforms.

Bring stuff to make smores - melt the marshmallows over the camp fire.

Note that per BSA rules, when staying in tents, no youth will stay in the tent of an adult other than his or her parent or guardian. Youth members may share a tent with other youth.

We plan to depart Treasure Valley by 10:00 AM on Sunday.
