Event Description

Pack 54 will be participating in the Pack 175 Chuck Wagon Derby along with Pack 151. In this event, the Cub Scouts form wagons consisting of a range of ages (Lion through Arrow of Light). Each wagon travels from "town" to "town" (each town is a station), entirely under kid power, as the boys participate in each town's fun activity. The derby is on Sunday.

Pack 54 will be running two of the towns in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Sunday Schedule

8:00 AM Registration
9:00 AM Hit the trail for morning towns.
12:00 PM Lunch (provided by Pack 175)
1:00 PM Afternoon towns
2:00 PM End of afternoon towns.
3:00 PM End of campfire and event.

Participants

This event is open to current Pack 54 youth members of all ages (even recently crossed-over Arrow of Light Scouts) and their siblings.

Troop 54 Scouts are invited to help run towns.

Registration

Registration fee: Pay $5 per adult or youth participant (age 4 and up) to the Pack by April 25 (extended). Siblings under 4 years old are free. (online payment)

Travel There

Each family will drive to the parking area at Trout Brook on their own. The entance to Trout Brook is near the rail trail parking area, but they are different places.

Campout

Participants in the Chuckwagon Derby can also optionally tent camp at Trout Brook the night before. Campout participants can arrive beginning at 4:00 PM on Saturday. Bring your own dinner. Breakfast will be provided to the overnight participants.

Registration: There is no fee for the campout. Please let the Scoutmaster know if you plan to participate.

Provide your own tent and cooking gear. You can cook on a campfire or on camp stoves.

Camping List - Use our camping list as a guide to plan what to bring.

Bring stuff to make smores - melt the marshmallows over a camp fire.

Note that per BSA rules, when staying in tents, no youth will stay in the tent of an adult other than his or her parent or guardian. Youth members may share a tent with other youth.
