The Army Corps of Engineers manages many locations, primaily for flood control. They promote use of these same areas for outdoor recreation.

• New England District Projects - View recreation projects in the region by state for Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Specific Locations

• Buffumville Lake - located in Charlton, MA (under 25 minutes from Worcester, MA) - this recreational area was built and is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. Camping (for groups only) is described as "primitive".
